Power Pilates Instructor Education Program

Pi Studio has teamed up with Power Pilates to provide one of the world’s most in-depth and exciting classical teacher training programs. Our instructors leave the Power Pilates Instructor Education Program with a deep understanding, skill and passion for Pilates which sets them apart from other teachers and prepares them for a long and successful career.

A culmination of years of in depth research into Joseph’s published works and archival footage, as well as firsthand experience passed down by Elders, particularly Romana Kryzanowska, means that unlike other certification programs, the Power Pilates Program trains instructors how to teach and stay true to Original Method of Joseph Pilates.

Through observation and practical experience, trainees learn how to teach exercises on the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle in a dynamic and fun way, and tailor workouts to meet client’s individual needs.

Teacher Trainer – Holly Murray

The Power Pilates Training Program is taught by highly experienced Teacher Trainer Holly Murray.  Holly started her Pilates career in New York over 10 years ago, where she trained with Master instructor and Pilates elder Romana Kryzanowska.

After two years of researching the best classical training programs, Holly opted for the Power Pilates Program. As well as honouring the original teachings, principles, vocabulary and exercise order as outlined by Joseph Pilates, the program goes beyond the technical training and includes developing leadership proficiency, problem solving skills, sales, business and client generation and retention knowledge.

Holly is well respected within the Pilates community. She was one of the first teachers to bring Classical Pilates in the UK and opened her Classical Pilates Studio in Battersea 9 years ago.  At the heart of Holly’s teaching is her love of the method, its ability to change people and that it is always fun and enjoyable.

Teacher Training FAQs

How does the Power Pilates Training Program differ from other certification program?
Power Pilates’ education focuses only on the Classical method of Pilates. Utilizing the unique teaching components – technique, flow, cue, voice, touch, and spot – you will develop a deep understanding of Pilates, how to teach it and become an excellent instructor.

Armed with the knowledge you have learned during the Training Program, you will have the confidence to work at any Pilates studio or maybe even start your own business.

If I have already done a mat work course, do I have to still have to take the Beginner Mat Course, before I do the full Comprehensive Training Program?
Yes. It is the basic matwork weekend which sets up the foundation for your entire teaching experience. It is then re introduced and strengthened throughout the full comprehensive.

Can I do the course part time?
Yes, it is imperative that you attend all the training weekends, but you can fit apprentice hours around your schedule. However it is not recommended to do less than 15 to 20 hours per week.

It’s a recession, do you offer payment plans?
Cases for payment plans are reviewed on a case by case basis. Please contact Teacher Trainer, Holly Murray at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Where can I do my apprentice hours?
Pi Studio in Battersea on Cotswold Mews is the main Teacher Trainer Center. These include Pi Studio(insert link) in Chelsea and Pilates Nation (insert link) in East Finchley.

How soon after I qualify can I start working?
You can begin teaching as soon as you pass the course, but remember too, that as you work though the course you will also be expected to teach clients, for which you will be paid a nominal fee.

How do I get started?
To book and pay please contact Power Pilates in New York directly on . Holly is also always available to email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

What makes a good Pilates teacher?
Pilates teachers don’t all come from a dance background. We welcome all ages, sex and personality types. You simply have to have a passion for Pilates and a commitment to learning.

Do I have to complete the full apprenticeship hours if I am already certified from a different school.
NO.  This is where the Bridge the gap program would suit.  Please see the bridge Participant information.
