Pregnancy with Pi

Pi Studios offers Pre- and Post-Natal Pilates, and we do so in a safe and welcoming environment.

  • All our instructors are qualified to assist you in your Pilates practice from before conception to the birth of your child and thereafter. All our instructors are qualified to assist you in your Pilates practice. We have welcomed many Pilates babies.

    PILATES PRE-PREGNANCY:

  • Ideally we want you to have started your Pilates journey pre-pregancy. So that you have laid down the core strenght needed for a stable and healthy pregnancy. After your pregnancy you are able to return to your pre-baby body quickly and easily; literally 'ping' back into shape.
  •

    PILATES DURING PREGNANCY:

  • During pregnancy emotional, physical and hormonal changes occur. Your workout during in pregnancy is not the time to become super fit. It is the time to focus on maintaining a level of fitness that is right for you.
  • Pilates will help you to stay strong for the rigours of labour and the demands of new motherhood.

PILATES POST-PREGNANCY:

  • We recommend six weeks minimum after giving birth before you start Pilates or rejoin your classes.
  • Pilates works simultaneously with the natural recruitment already at work in the body, and over the coming months you will see rapid results in regaining the figure you had pre-baby.
  • If you are new to Pilates you will quickly find yourself in the best shape of your life and feeling fitter than you did prior to becoming pregnant.

“Going through pregnancy and child birth is something that effects you both physically and emotionally.  Pilates helped me keep strong in all aspects of this challenging time… it is the most functional type of exercise for pre-, during and post-pregnancy.”
- Natasha Davidson, Certified Power Pilates Instructor and Pi Studios Client

“It’s the perfect preggers exercise as you’re using all your muscles but in a low impact way so you keep fit and in shape safely... it’s helped me to remain active and fairly trim... Not to mention maintaining some degree of core strength which I’m sure (or at least am hoping!) will help my stomach ping back to normal not too long after the birth!”
- Niki Dilger, Pi Studios Client
