If you are reading this, chances are you are either pregnant, planning to have a baby, or have just had a baby - in which case, congratulations!!
- Pi Studios offers Pre- and Post-Natal Pilates, and we do so in a safe and welcoming environment.
- All our instructors are qualified to assist you in your Pilates practice from before conception to the birth of your child and thereafter.
Please note that it is not advisable to start any new workout regimen after conception that you have not begun prior to conception, therefore, if you have not been working out with us prior to falling pregnant we ask that you wait until after the birth of your baby to begin your Pilates practice. Clients of Pi Studios who do fall pregnant are asked to notify Pi Studios immediately upon confirmation of conception. Medical clearance may be required prior to continuing your Pilates practice if deemed necessary or prudent by Pi Studios to obtain the same.
PILATES POST-PREGNANCY:
- You must wait for the body to heal after giving birth – whether it was a vaginal birth or a C-Section – a minimum of six weeks is required for the body to be ready to begin or restart a Pilates regimen.
- Pilates works simultaneously with the natural recruitment already at work in the body through the natural healing process, and over the coming months you will see rapid results in regaining the figure you had pre-baby…
- Or, if you did not practice Pilates prior to having your baby you will quickly find yourself in the best shape of your life and feeling fitter than you did prior to becoming pregnant.
“Going through pregnancy and child birth is something that effects you both physically and emotionally. Pilates helped me keep strong in all aspects of this challenging time… it is the most functional type of exercise for pre-, during and post-pregnancy.”
- Natasha Davidson, Certified Power Pilates Instructor and Pi Studios Client
“It’s the perfect preggers exercise as you’re using all your muscles but in a low impact way so you keep fit and in shape safely... it’s helped me to remain active and fairly trim... Not to mention maintaining some degree of core strength which I’m sure (or at least am hoping!) will help my stomach ping back to normal not too long after the birth!”
- Niki Dilger, Pi Studios Client
